Body Sugaring in Calgary
A natural, gentle alternative to waxing — just sugar, lemon, and water — at a private women-only studio in Bridlewood SW.
If you want a natural, gentle alternative to waxing, body sugaring at Marwah Thread & Wax Studio in Bridlewood SW might be exactly what your skin has been looking for. Our sugaring paste is made from just three ingredients — sugar, lemon, and water — and applied at body temperature, making it a favourite for sensitive skin. Every appointment is one-on-one with Manindar Marwah, a licensed esthetician with over 15 years of experience, in a private women-only studio.
What Is Body Sugaring and How Is It Different From Waxing?
Sugaring removes hair from the root using an all-natural paste, so results last just as long as waxing — usually a few weeks. The key differences: the paste is applied at body temperature (no hot wax), it’s made from only natural ingredients, and it’s removed in the natural direction of hair growth, which many people find gentler and less likely to cause irritation. Because sugaring paste only sticks to hair and dead skin — not living skin — it’s a popular choice for those with sensitive or reactive skin.
Brazilian Sugaring
Our most popular sugaring service is the Brazilian. Done privately and at your own pace, Brazilian sugaring is an all-natural way to stay smooth in the bikini area for weeks. First-timers are always welcome — we’ll walk you through every step and keep you comfortable throughout. If you’d rather start smaller, a Classic Bikini (line) is a gentle introduction. Prefer traditional waxing? We offer that too.

Sugaring Aftercare
After sugaring, keep the area clean and avoid hot baths, saunas, swimming, and heavy sweating for about 24 hours. Skip perfumed lotions on the area for the first day, and start gently exfoliating a few days later to keep hair growing in freely and prevent ingrowns. Regular appointments every three to four weeks keep regrowth soft and make each session smoother.
Body Sugaring FAQ
Is sugaring better than waxing?
Neither is universally “better” — both remove hair from the root and last a few weeks. Sugaring is all-natural and applied at body temperature, which many people with sensitive skin prefer, while waxing grips coarse hair firmly. We offer both so you can find what suits your skin.
How much does Brazilian sugaring cost in Calgary?
At Marwah, a first-time Brazilian sugaring is $70 and maintenance appointments are $60. A Classic Bikini line is $30.
Does sugaring hurt less than waxing?
Many clients find sugaring gentler because the paste is applied at body temperature and removed in the direction of hair growth. Sensation varies from person to person, but it’s generally well tolerated.
How long does hair need to be for sugaring?
About a quarter-inch, similar to waxing — roughly two to three weeks of growth.
Is sugaring good for sensitive skin?
Yes. With only three natural ingredients and no hot wax, sugaring is a common choice for those with sensitive or reactive skin.
How often should I book sugaring?
Every three to four weeks keeps regrowth fine and soft and makes each appointment quicker.
